I love sitting around a table, enjoying good food, with family and friends. Eating together fosters community, and community is something we value highly in our household. My love of healthy eating grew quickly when my husband worked at the Whole Foods Coop in Duluth, MN. We learned about quality nutrition and the importance of putting nourishing food in your body. Learning new, healthy recipes is so fun for me, especially now that I'm cooking for five most meals. I want our kids to have a healthy, balanced understanding of food and for them to appreciate the vast variety of flavors and foods in the world. The balanced understanding I want them to have is that nutrition is very important and can impact your life in huge ways, however it isn't the most important thing in life. And you should still eat ice cream.
We eat a little bit of everything! You'll often find paleo or Whole30 approved recipes as well as vegetarian and vegan recipes. I love to eat as plant based as possible, and I also try to experiment with healthy baking! I feel victorious when I find recipes that my kids will enjoy.
I am born and raised in Duluth, MN and I love supporting my local community. The majority of my cooking supplies come from the Whole Foods Coop and, in the summer, our local farmer's markets. I put a lot of thought and effort into making this affordable for our family.
