One of my favorite ways to begin date night is with a cocktail at Vikre Distillery.  It is the perfect place to whet your appetite with a one-of-a-kind, top quality drink.  We Duluthians are very fortunate to have Vikre Distillery in our neighborhood.  They have won countless awards for their spirits and are constantly creating delicious, innovative cocktails.  Vikre makes everything in house that they can for their cocktails.  The fresh, high quality ingredients are evident as soon as you take a sip.  One of the reasons I love a cocktail from Vikre is that it is typically something I would NEVER make at home.  The last cocktail I had there had "lillet foam" on top. Nope.  That is not something I will whip up in my kitchen anytime soon.  You'll pay more than you would for a g&t down the street, but the quality difference is obvious.  I recommend trying a flight at some point.  It is much easier to taste with precision when sipping a little sample of their gin, whiskey, aquavit, or vodka.  

I appreciate the atmosphere at Vikre.  Simple and elegant.  Rough and sophisticated.  These are local artists crafting an experience along with a great drink.  And, if you are a bit of a lightweight like myself, there is a lot of great food within walking distance once you finish your pre-dinner drink.  Cheers!
